What’s in Season? | Fresh From Florida

This post was sponsored by Fresh From Florida as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central, however all opinions expressed are my own.

Fresh From Florida Farmers and Produce Seasonality

The other day I found myself going to the grocery store just because my son wanted to go. I tried to explaining to him that we were fully stocked but he wouldn’t budge and off we went shopping. My love of going grocery shopping has rubbed off on him, which I can’t say is a bad thing.

fresh-florida-produceIt helps when our local Publix always has the freshest produce from Fresh From Florida, I love that our farmers in Florida make fresh produce accessible year-round for everyone to enjoy. Florida folks are definitely blessed with Publix Supermarkets.

I love that we can find out a little bit about the local farmers that keep our bellies happy when at the grocery store.

Luckily Florida’s milder temperatures has us at an advantage. Fruits & veggies grown in Florida are generally obtainable earlier than those produced in other states. As a matter of fact, most of the Sunshine State produce is available between October and June.

I love fresh fruits and veggies and do my absolute best to buy everything in season. We don’t have a farmers market near us anymore since it closed, so I have to rely on the grocery store to remain stocked.

Nothing like fresh fruits and vegetables. I live in New England so finding fresh produce is hard up here during the cold season.

Buying in season is so important, because it means your food is local and traveled shorter distances! So much better for the Earth! Just wish there was less plastic involved, but this post is awesome!
