April Distance brings May Existence

We’re trying something new this May. As we’ve all struggled the past few months with worldwide chaos, I felt compelled to start a new monthly column.

Taken from print magazines, this will be a fun way to entice you to come to read what’s to come on YLM (Young Love Mommy).

May is the month of Mothers and my birthday! These dates will be celebrated a bit differently than past occasions but not without the Oomph they both require.

Reading:
Last month I finished Nora Roberts – Under Currents. Not typically what I read but I need something different and light. I ended up enjoying it a lot.

This month I’ll be reading How to Win Friends & Influence People in the Digital Age.

One note I’d like to add is I’ve been simultaneously reading and listening to the audio book version in order to concentrate better and not speed read & retain the information more effectively.

If you try this tip let me know! I don’t know why I haven’t done it before.

Watching:
Movies – Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey really (thumbs up), Vivarium (thumbs down). Shows – Dead to Me & Working Moms (Netflix)

Listening:
Michael Buble always hits the spot for me as well as any crooner type music.

Making:
I’m really missing all of my crafts and cooking supplies I’ve left back in Jacksonville, they would have certainly come in hand during this time at home.

Learning:
I’ve gone back to studying French using Duolingo – till a few days ago I was on a 40-day streak!!! It’s been great to keep my mind occupied and help me dust off my language learning skills.

Even though I don’t have a lot of tools, I’ve still been able to make some incredible homemade meals for my family, including lots of bread.

Most meals & recipes are being shared on my Instagram, so make sure to follow along.
