Simple Mother’s Day Celebration Ideas
Celebrating Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be hard work, complicated, expensive or with filled with activities that only tire us out more. I’m not aware of anything more fulfilling and exhausting than being a mom and with every little glimpse of happiness comes the burden of carrying for someone that depends fully on you.
The realization that we’re not perfect moms and that we will fail our children is enough some sleep over but we usually snap out of it and accept that failing doesn’t mean FAILURE, it means we’re trying.
So it’s our day and I salute every one of you, for the little people you are raising to be contributing members of society, I’m glad I’m doing motherhood with you.
Although nothing really changes on Mother’s Day, we get some extra love sent our way and that’s always a good thing in my book.
Give Mom the Day Off
She wants to do nothing. She has things to do everyday already, all she wants is to not be needed. Don’t leave everything for her to do tomorrow, and call that giving her the day off. Let her sleep and shower in peace.
Breakfast in Bed
Eating breakfast in bed is one of those feel good things that everyone loves. You don’t have to pull out a huge spread, just having a relaxing breakfast in bed is good enough. Bring on the coffee and toast Dear.
At Home Spa Day
She probably has tons of face creams lying around, if not, there are perfectly good DIY facial masks and scrubs online that you can make on the spot. Treat your home to a special spa day at home, include a nice robe, candles, draw her a bath with rose petals if possible or some bath bombs.
If you like that type of thing… Going for walk around the neighborhood after her breakfast in bed will get everyone’s mood in the right direction. So get out there and get some fresh air.
You don’t have to splurge to have a nice celebration, you don’t really have to spend anything at all. Make a delicious pasta lunch! Easy, delicious and super affordable for a crowd. (You can check out a delicious recipe here) Buy or Pick some flowers along with a hand-made card and you’re good to go.
I’m sure whatever you do for Mother’s Day will make mom a very happy woman. Honoring her on this special day for all the effort she puts into raising her family.
On this note, I leave you with a little poem and wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day surrounded by those you love and cherish the most.
M is for the miracle of Being.
O is for its origin in love.
T is for the tenderness of seeing.
H is for a home no wind can move.
E is for the ecstasy of living.
R is for the recklessness of giving.
Happy Mother’s Day!
