Summer Slimdown

This is a sponsored post but opinions and suggestions are all mine.

Okay Ladies,

Summer is just a couple of days away and if you’re anything like me, you have been struggling with your new mama bod. I have my moments where I work out for a couple of weeks or even a whole month straight (gasp) but it doesn’t happen very often.

So I decided to get a little help from my friends over at SlimQuick. I’ve seen their products on the shelves from drink mixes, capsules and gummies.  Now they’ve added their new SLIMQUICK  Pure Protein Supplement specifically designed for us lovely ladies.

I was asked to write a review about their product and there isn’t a better time like the present and a few days away from summer being officially here. I said why not? Couldn’t hurt and I’d lose a few pounds extra.

I had never taken any protein shakes before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I gotta tell you.

It was YUMMY!

I’m not a sweets kind of person so I was a little hesitant to try it. I opted for the french vanilla flavor but it also comes in double chocolate. SLIMQUICK Pure Protein tastes incredibly delicious and provides 20 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber per day!

You drink 4 oz serving in the morning with food and a serving 6 hours later with a snack or meal. I decided the easiest way to do this was using a water bottle of mine and my measuring cup, I mixed the protein powder with the 4 oz of water in the measuring cup and then poured it into my water bottle and shake until it’s all incorporated, drink and ENJOY!

Something else to add; SlimQuick offers a weight loss community that anyone can be a part of. You can join the community on the company website and have access to mix and match meal plans, workout exercises and 24/7 emotional support. SlimQuick is a huge supporter in the healthy lifestyle movement and so am I.

So if you’ve been needing that extra nudge, today is the day. Head over to their website and see where to buy, be sure to check out all of their other fabulous weight-loss products.
As with any diet program, consult your physician prior to starting any new diet or exercise routine. This product is to be used in conjunction with a a low calorie diet and regular exercise.

Father’s Day Weekend

Hey there lovelies,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I wrote this post on Monday but didn’t get to finish it early enough to post (case of the Mondays) but I’m glad you are here. We’ve survived the most hated day on the planet.

Father’s Day weekend has passed and I didn’t get to write a post about little crafts I was gathering. Oh well!! I got busy.  In a previous post I talked about how we had listed our home.

Well, a couple of days later we got an offer. FULL PRICE BABY! So this is the super official notice that we are moving.

So my house now is a mess, I’m going through all of my drawers throwing things out that I’ve been hoarding (you know you hoard stuff too).  It’s so hard to let go some times, but I’m doing it.. cleaning house ladies. I ordered some boxes online and I’m packing away.

We’ll be moving in with my in-laws for as long as we need, since we are still house shopping and we’ll be buying a fixer-upper. So it will be a good couple of months before we move into our new home.  I’ll keep you all updated on the house hunt and also all of the renovation process.

We had a very laid back but cool Father’s Day.  We started the day off by going to our church (You can watch past sermons there), the message really touched my heart.  We sometimes lose sight of our goals and get discouraged on our journey.  Everyday is the same, especially if you’re a mother, but if we just change our attitudes, do things with a happy heart we’ll feel better. Change up your routine, just because you have to do the same thing over again doesn’t mean you have to do it the same way. It really placed a breath of fresh air in my spirit.

After church, we met my in-laws for a yummy lunch at a favorite local restaurant of ours. Then off to Town Center mall we went.  We walked around for a few hours (added bonus? Burned lunch calories) Really tired the kiddo, he skipped his afternoon nap but ran pretty much the entire mall.

We came home to watch the Brazil x Venezuela soccer game and chatted some more over coffee and sandwiches.

By 6:30 pm the kiddo had his bath and dinner and was down at around 7:20 – Score for mommy!

We settled in for a suspenseful movie, No Good Deed, if you haven’t watched it, you totally should. We had my husband’s youngest sister and her husband over at night for that.

A great time was had by all.  How about you? How was your Father’s day weekend?  Did anything special for the daddy’s in your life? Tell me about it in the comments below.

New Mom Advice | My Most Embarrassing Mommy Moment

Advice for new mothers, don’t worry we might fail at something and excel at something else. Don’t stress too much.

But please don’t laugh too much at my failure, I know you will. But hold it in.

I’m sure you’ve had your share of embarrassing moments, but embarrassing mommy moments I think take the cake. I think most of the times it’s something so stupid. But we end up failing somehow.

I don’t know what happened to me after I gave birth. It feels like a cloud somehow covered my eyes and brain as soon as I went into labor. I’ve never really talked about this cloud or ever heard of anyone mentioning it but it happened to me.

As soon as the doctor told me I was going to have a c-section I blanked out. Total body experience. I didn’t prepare for it, wasn’t expecting it, didn’t even cross my mind because I did NOT want one. I was and still am terrified of operations. Don’t ask me why, but I am.

I remember being wheeled out to the surgical room and everything kinda became foggy from them on, you can read all about my birth story here.

When we were home, my mother stayed with us for a little over a month and I guess it somehow put me very much at ease and I still could feel as if I was having an out of body experience. Everything was so new and difficult.

Gosh, breastfeeding was so difficult.  Getting up in the middle of the night after a feeding then getting up for pump afterwards was exhausting.  But my mother would let me sleep in a little longer and give my son pumped milk. But within the first week, the first doctor visit was upon us.

My mother in law was going to take us, she took the car seat out of my car and put it in hers, well tried.  I got in the car (super hard after a cesarean) and she couldn’t figure out how to install the car seat.

I hadn’t done in my car, my husband did. I didn’t even see him do it. and I couldn’t exactly move well. So we gave up.  Now I was crying uncontrollably in the car and I had to make the dreaded phone call to the pediatrician’s office. I spoke to the receptionist crying saying I couldn’t install my baby’s car seat and we can’t make it to the appointment.

She was nice and calmed me down saying it was okay and we could re-schedule.

I was so embarrassed! I couldn’t install a car seat? What kind of mother can’t do that?

A flood of emotions came over me, I’m not a good mom, I can’t do anything right, I can’t even take my son to his doctor’s appointment. It really was a surreal moment for me. We are so delicate after giving birth, at least I was.

We all have insecurities about our parenting but we get through it and today I find it incredibly funny that we missed his first appointment because I couldn’t get his car seat installed.

I told you ONE of my embarrassing mommy moments, what’s yours? Got any advice for new mothers struggling? Got a new  mommy in your life? Share this post with her. Reassure here she’s doing great. Share your embarrassing moments in the comments below.
